This month, we're thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of our Befriending Service! 

Before we roll it out, we’re actively seeking compassionate volunteers to join our team and connect with individuals experiencing loneliness or isolation in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire. 

We're looking to recruit a team of befriending volunteers supported by a Volunteer Befriending Lead. Befrienders are asked to spare a couple of hours each week to provide regular, face-to-face companionship and social support to individuals who may feel isolated or lonely. By building a friendly and supportive relationship, befriending volunteers will improve customers well-being, boost their confidence, and encourage them to engage more with their community.  

About the service

The Befriending Service is simple, yet powerful. By offering just a couple of hours a week, our volunteers provide regular, face-to-face companionship and social support to individuals who may be feeling isolated or lonely. 

These volunteers then become a friendly presence in someone's life - offering a listening ear, engaging in meaningful conversations, and fostering relationships that help people feel a true sense of belonging in their communities. 

This initiative makes a real difference, offering not just a companion, but the chance to build confidence, improve well-being, and re-engage with the local community. It's an opportunity to make a lasting impact on someone's life.
