Do you have a couple of hours to spare?
If you can commit just two hours a week, you could make a meaningful difference in your community by becoming a Befriending Volunteer.
Our Befriending Team is made up of compassionate volunteers who meet individuals face-to-face, offering a friendly ear and a caring presence. Sometimes, a simple conversation is all it takes to help someone feel less isolated and more connected.
Our volunteer roles:
Lead Befriending Volunteer
As a lead volunteer in the Befriending Service, you will support and guide a small team of befrienders to ensure a high quality service is delivered, and to motivate and lead the team. This role is suitable for someone who is organised, empathetic, and is committed to making a positive impact in their community. With strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Befriending Volunteer
As a befriender you will be able to spare a minimum of two hours face to face per week with one of our customers with the aim of improving their mental well-being, reducing their feeling of loneliness and enhancing their quality of life through the creation of a supportive relationship based on trust and mutual respect.
